I got my hair blown out here by Megumi and it was an amazing experience. Firstly, the salon is so cute and pretty and the hair washing chairs with little stools for your feet is some of the most comfortable I’ve sat in. Then we get to Megumi who asked me what I wanted and what products I wanted and the style I wanted and perfectly executed it with respect and careful fingers. I’m so glad I came here to get the wash and blowout and will definitely be back soon!

I went to Nami a few years ago. 2021 to be exact. She an excellent colorist. But the shops policies regarding cancellations is egregiously ridiculous. 24 hour cancellation fee. I get 12 hours but 24 ? What if you wake up sick at 8a and have an appointment that day ? This is what happened to me back in 2021. Woke up with Covid. The city still has a mask mandate then. I had to cancel to protect others and heal.
I stopped going to them bc they didn't allow dogs. And my dog has separation anxiety in which she'd howl and bark. So , I found a place that allowed dogs as long as the clients didn't mind. My dog , Bonnie , is wonderful around ppl and just lays on the floor by my feet no matter where I take her.
Anyways, I decided to give them another shot as my goto is away. I saw Rui twice. He's good. But I want to go darker. The same as Nami did years ago. Nami wasn't available those days so I figured I'd stick with Rui. Rui declined to do my color. It's not his specialty. But Nami was there. This is where it gets weird. Rui kept asking me why I didn't go back to Nami. I said bc she wasn't available the days I am. For some reason I had to explain about my dogs anxiety issue and that she cries. "Cries ?" He asked with disbelief. Umm so I had to imitate my dogs howls lol. He then said Nami is here and maybe you can make an appointment with her. Ok. Then the owner came over and said I can see Nami but I would need to pay the cancellation fee from 3 YEARS AGO. I asked how much it was 200. I walked out.
TLDR : don't go here if you want to be treated poorly and deal with strange ppl. And if you do , you better do everything in your power and pray you don't get sick or need to cancel bc they would NOT forget and have no compassion on why you would cancel on them.

Love coming here! Rui and Kiiko are my go-too stylists and you really can't go wrong with either or!
I came in with a vague idea about the type of way I wanted to layer my hair and both stylists have provided their own unique takes on that to my pleasant surprise. Will definitely be a regular moving forward.

Every time I go I am treated with the most caring and thorough, professional customer service. My hair is taken care with the best products and abilities from the staff. I always love how I leave after my appointment, the place is beyond clean and nice as well it’s a great self care experience ❤️❤️❤️

Kiiko has definitely got some skills. I've gotten a relatively big head, so it's been a pain in the a** for many many hairstylists. Kiiko was totally fine with it. It came out cute. She is a sweet, soft-mannered, and highly skilled girl. The salon is also relaxing.

Kiiko is the BEST!! I came in 20 minutes late because of the subway and was fully expecting her to cancel (as she was fully in her right to do) but she still cut my hair! I described vaguely what I wanted and she was so kind and checked in every so often to make sure I was okay with what she was doing. After she blow-dried my hair, I realized I wanted a shaggier/more layered and thinner cut. Kiiko went back and I'm in love with my hair now! The new customer discount is great and I'll definitely be coming back.

Anne did an amazing job of cutting my hair into long layers and face framing bangs. It's incredibly flattering to my face shape, and she gave a wonderful head massage with the shampoo! She's super sweet and I definitely recommend! I'll be back.

This is my first trip to the salon since they reopened for phase 2. They followed protocol and I felt very safe inside. Rui did a great job on my hair cut and dye. My hair was very long and walked out with a cute summer short cut. Highly recommend this salon and Rui! Thank you.

A gem of a salon in NYC! I am very picky about hairdressers and absolutely loved my experience here with Rui. Friendly, professional and I felt that Rui really listened to what I wanted and gave me his honest opinion on what would look beat for my naturally curly hair which I wear straight most of the time. The salin itself is small, clean and modern. Loved the final result and will definitely be back! Thanks!

Very happy! My issues were with previous highlights and cut but Rui helped me out to sort it out. He did a phenomenal job blending the color with my natural hair and gave me a chic haircut.
I used Pulsd and was worried it would influence the service. I can assure you it did not! I would rate it as an exceptional experience! Rui went above and beyond. He was ready for me upon my arrival, extremely hospitable, took time to actually evaluate my hair and decide on the best course of action. He's very knowledgeable and took time to walk me through each step of the way. I left VERY happy and now I look forward to my next visit and becoming his regular client.

I love my haircut!
I've been living in NYC for about 8 years now and finally found a salon/stylist that knows how to cut my hair exactly how I want, without me having to pay an arm and a leg.
Ai Kim is so friendly and really understood what I wanted and how to do it. The last time I got my hair cut in New York, the other stylist thinned out my hair too much and two years later, it still hasn't fully grown all back. I was hesitant to get my hair cut again after that experience, but I'm glad I tried Laurel Bowery and it turned out to be great!
Ai also cuts/styles my boyfriend's hair - he has crazy difficult hair but she seems to know exactly what to do with it. He's actually the one that referred me to her! So, you know she's good at cutting hair for both men and women.

I've been searching for hairstylist for 7 months since moving to NYC and I am SO happy to say I've found mine at Laurel Bowery. I emailed the salon and they got me in the same day with a stylist who had a 20% off first-time promo.
Rui cut and styled my hair after listening to me and taking his time to learn about my texture and gripes about previous cuts. I have naturally thick curly hair, and I also like to wear it straight and wavy. I absolutely love the cut and the way he styled it and taught me how to do it myself.
After I showered and straightened it, I realized I wanted it a little shorter and was able to make an appointment a week later, day of, and see Rui. Everyone at the salon is super accommodating, and I love the products they use too.
Really can't say enough good things! 10/10 recommend. I'll be back!
