This was the absolute WORST hair experience of my life. I am still dealing with the effects 6 months later. I came in for a haircut was convinced to do balayage, my hair was bleached twice (which is terrible practice.) I was assured that this was the best course of treatment. They added low lights which were darker than my root/natural color, then root shadow to fix the problem of doing highlights too high (which I told my colorist 5 times that they highlights were going to be too high.) The root shade to fix it did not match my hair color and now my hair is red and again not matching my initial color. I just got it cut and my hair has not been this short in years to cut away the damage from the bleach. They would not offer a refund, tried to fix it THEN WANTED TO CHARGE ME TO FIX IT! scheduled with my then no one showed up. THEY TOOK MY MONEY, WASTED MY TIME AND MOST IMPORTANT RUINED MY HAIR WHICH WAS SO LONG AND WONDERFUL BEFORE I STARTED!

I can’t describe how happy I feel by finding this amazing place !! I’ve never seen my hair so beautiful as I did today !! Perfect color , perfect cut , Joseph went thru all details with me he was patient kind and very professional , Joseph thank you so much for everything you did and also your staffs . You know they’ve done a great job when 10 people tell you “great hair”! Donata made me wonderful highlights and lowlights that completely covered my white hair. Super competent (many many years in Italy with lots of continuous learning) and a very nice person. I had a great time!

Well... I booked an appointment through Groupon. when I got there, it was instant complaining that they didn't know who was taking the appointments when there weren't enough stylists.
I had to leave and come back later in the day.
My stylist did a great job, that's not my issue. My issue is that I didn't pay or ask for a blow out. He did it without asking and then they charged me for it.
Manager/owner woman was rude about it saying that it was my job to say something. Um, why is it the customer's fault? Shouldn't your stylist be aware and ask before proceeding? Whatever, I won't be returning and you should probably go anywhere else. There are a million hair salons, go anywhere else. You know, where kindness and empathy exists.

Luna Lucci is my go to salon. I just got my cut, color and blow out and it's the best my hair has looked in a long time. I go to Joseph for the cut and color and Donata for the blow out. Great location near grand central station. Highly recommend.

Yesterday, Emad cut and styled my hair, and it turned out amazing. I received many compliments from my friends and family. He was nice, knowledgeable, and listened to what I wanted my hair to look like. Afterward, I had graduation pictures, and Emad made sure my hair stayed styled by using bobby pins to hold the curl. It's honestly the best my hair has ever looked. I wish I had known to go to Emad sooner for my hair. I highly recommend going to Luna Lucci's hair salon and asking for Emad to cut and style your hair.

I walked in with a Groupon and a bad attitude, i usually hate getting my hair done but it was clear I had to because I am currently hating the way I look. Unless I want to be a couch potato forever things had to be done, as chores at least. Lucky for me Joseph was there to make me feel better. He took his passion and time and experience as tools towards a personal duty to change my mind. Guuurrl it worked. I let him have creative freedom and I paid a bit extra but it was clear he wanted to change my life and this hair did just that. I am obsessed with my new hair . But for real it took 15 yrs off me and it's Gorgeous.
The salon itself was a vibe also it was super clean very white and diamond esc - complete clean glam.

Don’t go there unless you want perfect hair lol
I’m someone who’s always disappointed with the way her hair turns out but on Thursday I met the best hairstylist with the best hair technique and I couldn’t love my hair anymore. I had a really bad color that needed a lot of fixing and the person who did my hair was so patient and experienced. My balayage came out perfect. Not to mention their entire staff was very professional and friendly. Best salon in the area

What an amazing experience!!! After some horrible hair salon experiences in the past, I have always been hesitant to get my hair done. I met the owner, Joseph, at a restaurant, and he cleared his calendar for a balayage, cut, and blow dry that same week before I started my new job. And wow - I am so glad I took the chance and went to Luna Lucci! I will never go anywhere else. Everyone at the salon was so incredibly welcoming, and Joseph is truly a master of his craft – a perfectionist down to every single detail. He was meticulous and precise with every single foil for my balayage and walked me through each step in the process so I knew what to except. On top of it all, the hair cut itself was among the best I’ve ever received. I couldn’t recommend him and his team more!!! If you’re in NYC, go here!!! You won’t regret it. Thanks again, Joseph!

I gave a new place and a deal a chance and it ended with handfuls of my previously healthy hair falling out in bleach white clumps, an uneven and choppy haircut, thick/patchy highlights, and a $200 bill with a hidden toner fee on top of the pulsd partial highlight/cut I used.
I made an appointment through pulsd for a partial highlight and haircut for $159 total. There was no note (that I saw) where a toner was extra and I assumed it was included because all highlights need to be toned. It was not, it was $55 which was about the price of the haircut as well. I was told this when I sat in the chair and accepted the extra cost. My stylist then proceeded to start bleaching my hair without brushing it or sectioning it, without asking me where my part was, and missing several spots on my hair line. I spoke up a few times but decided to trust the process. Normally my hair takes 40 minutes to lift and this was done in 15.
After rinsing and toning, I sat back in the seat and was horrified when I ran my hands through my hair and large chunks of white burnt hair came out. I asked why this was happening and my stylist said it was normal. She then proceeded to cut my hair in the front and sides, when I had just asked for a half inch off the back. She said it was needed because it was uneven (probably from the hair melting off). I could see the haircut was not even at all and she gave me choppy angles (see in pic below). Then my stylist had to stop before the blowout to see another client and I was directed to the washing chairs for a complimentary treatment while I waited for her to be able to blowdry me. Alone in the chair, more and more clumps of hair were melting off and I decided to decline the treatment and just leave.
The staff was very nice throughout the appointment up until I tried to politely pay and leave without a blowdry bc I was so stressed by the hair falling out. I even tried to not make a fuss and say it was because I was in a rush, but they did not want me to leave and kept encouraging me to wait for the blow dry so I told them the truth and said I wasn't mad but I wanted to go. The woman (I think owner/manager) as well as my stylist said it was normal/tried to blame my hair quality that I "bleach too much." I had to go to another salon to have it fixed afterwards where they assured me that was not the case and said the haircut was so uneven it was almost unfixable without cutting a significant amount of hair.
I have learned my lesson about deals that seem too good to be true and want to help others from making the same mistake. There might be stylists at the salon who can do what I asked for on my hair type, there might be other hair types that would have faired better than myself here, but my personal experience was traumatizing and I am still out a hefty amount of money to damage my hair. I have no ill feelings toward the salon stylists however I am disappointed about the way my concerns were handled and that I still had to pay full price with clumps of my hair on the floor and dangling from my head and being gaslit about it. When I asked for them to take off the price of the blowdry, I was given pushback back but they did deduct $20.
Moral of the story: Nice people but be wary of their bleaching methods and hair cut skills! I will now be battling breakage for months when I never have before in my 11 years of highlighting my hair. Pics below show the hair and I'll include what my hair normally looks like so you can judge for yourself if it was damaged before. I wish I had pics of the hair clumps falling out and litering the floor but the best I can do is a picture of my hairbrush from even when I got home and hair was still coming out

I came in for a consultation with one of the head stylists on Friday May 5. Set up an appointment for Monday May 8 at 11am. I told the stylist I had to leave by 2/2:30 the latest. Because she warned me that it would take about 3 hours to do a balayage process on my hair.
I came in at exactly 11 am for my appointment, she said she needed a few minutes with her first appointment. "No problem," I said, "as long as I am out by 2/2:30."
45 minutes later, she finally took me. She didn't even sweep around her area.
I asked her to please sweep up the hair at least off the chair.
When I set down she started talking to me about what I wanted done. I explained in detail and showed her several pictures.
FYI, I came in with grown out very blonde highlights. I told her that I don't want to cover the highlights but I don't want more highlights, I want balayage because it doesn't come from the roots and I think the blonde covers my grey hair more naturally. I worry that if I go back to my brown hair the grey will be too prominent.
She proceeded to put bleach in my hair, which is what I expected. What I didn't expect was that it would not be mixed and that literally the blue powder was going to be all over my smock. She wrapped my hair in plastic wrap. Ten minutes later she had the wash girl wash my hair. Then she said I need toner to blend everything out. Ok, I agreed, she's the professional. I asked her to make sure that the toner is not too dark and to please make sure that it doesn't turn my hair red. I explained that I have a natural Chestnut undertone to my hair and it sometimes tends to turn hair colorant to red.
"Don't worry," she said, "I'm going to use an ashy tone. "
Again, ok, I agreed. She's the professional. But this doesn't look like balayage. My hair is dry like straw!
She saw that she messed up, when she was blowdrying my hair, she said to me, "You probably need to find someone who can do professional balayage."
What????? I thought you are the professional!!!! 30 years experience?!?!
When I was done, I expressed my disappointment to the manager. They still made me pay because they said she completed a service and it looks beautiful! Lol!!!!
I didn't have time to argue because it was 3pm already and I was running late to work.
Today I called and went in to speak with the manager and they are trying to tell me this is exactly the blonde balayage!
She told me to wash my hair several times.
Never! Never! Never! Ever! If I wash my hair 1000 times it's not going to be blonde balayage!

Wow, what a find! First of all, it is extremely clean, well priced and has a very positive vibe! Secondly they have a great service - a dry cut face frame (it is so much faster, and ideal for those like me who likes to wash hair themselves with my own products and just needs front layers to be fixed). Angel did an amazing job giving me great layers around my face (it is not easy with thin hair) and went way beyond just a frame cut which I highly appreciate. Also I heard he is an amazing colorist. I am very particular about my hair but I feel like I will be back for sure!

I am so late with writing this review, but better late than never! Luna Lucci hair salon exceeded my expectations for an ash blonde balayage. I showed them pictures of what I wanted, they advised me of their expert opinions and combined my desires with their knowledge of what would work best without making me feel pressured or unheard.
