I scheduled my hair appointment 4 weeks in advance for June 2024, and was contacted 2 hours before my appointment saying it had to be rescheduled. I contacted Mel two separate times in the following days asking for a rescheduled appointment . She responded once, but then I never heard back and I never received a rescheduled appointment. I had been getting haircuts from Mel since 2022, I commuted hours to see her because she was a talented hairstylist. Unfortunately since I never heard back I am now going to a different hairstylist instead. I hope future customers have a better experience.

Modern Maven is the best hair salon in Brooklyn! Their knowledge on curly hair surpasses every other salon I’ve been to. The salon itself is so inviting and Mel and her team are super sweet. They always make me feel like a queen! Curly cuts, hair color, blow outs… they do it all to perfection.
