I started going to ORO Duboce after a recommendation from a friend. I don't get my hair cut as often as I should, so when I do I try my best to book with Eden at ORO. She's kind and friendly and I'm always at ease with her here - and, of course, I've always loved the results! (The only mini inconvenience I've experienced is that I usually have to book way in advance since she seems to be quite busy/popular with clients.)
Location-wise, ORO is easy to get to since there's a MUNI stop right outside. The salon itself feels clean and modern, and I love the tiny pet couch they have in the corner upon entering lol.

On the day I had scheduled my appointment at Oro my son ended up being home sick from school and I was the only one who could take care of him. I contacted Oro to let them know I could not make my appointment and they charged me $300 the full service amount! No sympathy for the fact that I had no choice and could not leave my sick 8 year old at home alone!!! So disappointing. Needless to say I will never be going here again. Unless your life is free of unpredictable events, I recommend you avoid this place. What an inflexible policy!!

I've been going to Brendan for years even prior to his time at Oro. I love the way he cuts my curly hair, he's helped even out uneven hair growth and has supplied the best recommendations for hair care! Plus he's so friendly and great to talk to. I definitely recommend Brendan to anyone looking for a stylist (curly hair or not)!

I love ORO Salon and Kelly gets my blonde right every time. Before I found Kelly, I had been bouncing around a bunch of salons in the mission, and rarely received consistent cut and color.
Kelly has been able to get my hair to the tone I want, and the cut is perfect every time. I can't go anywhere else now, and have even taken PTO to schedule with her.

Kelly did an incredible job with my curls!! I love this salon so much and am so happy with the care and expertise Kelly provided. I first went to Kelly to start my curly shag journey, and she gave me some lovely curtain bangs. It was my first cut in almost 3 years since I was so careful and meticulous about finding a new hairdresser after moving to SF. Once I was comfortable with the change, I went back to her and asked her to give me the full curly bang experience!! Kelly absolutely slayed it and handled me with so much care. And I love my new look. Thank u Oro!!!

Taylor is incredible! This was the best haircut I've ever had, but it was also one of the most relaxing experiences. Tayler helped me decompress from a chaotic workday with everything from an amazing shampoo and light scalp massage to a quiet, relaxed atmosphere during the cut and blow dry. The cut has grown out perfectly and she mentioned how she was adapting the style for my hair type. I only wish I had tried Oro sooner!

Kelly did such an incredible job with my haircut. I have extremely long hair that is precious to me, so I'm always nervous when getting it cut, but she knew exactly what I needed. I felt so beautiful leaving the salon and have gotten so many compliments, Kelly has a forever client in me!!! Thank you Kelly!

Yesterday, I had a great experience at Oro Salon SF. Kelly is truly talented with hair styles, and she was just the person I needed for a nice haircut and beautiful blow out. As a tired mom I hardly have time for self care, but my experience yesterday inspired me to do more of it. Kelly understands exactly what you're looking for and she will provide great insight depending on hair type etc. Treat yourself and go see her at Oro Salon SF.

My hairdresser moved out of the city so I was looking for a new place closer to my apartment. My friend had recently gone to ORO for the first time and recommended Brit. Her hair looked great and I took a look at their instagram account and was impressed. It's an accessible studio from anywhere in the city, really cute, bright and friendly staff. Brit is amazing and I've been going to her for over a year now. She's really down to earth, fun to chat with and most importantly does an incredible job with my hair. I usually do a cut and balayage (alternate between partial and full) and always get compliments after!

I left there feeling like this was the best hair color I ever received! My hair now feels healthy. Eden is great!! She really listened to what I wanted and she delivered!! The scalp massage was so relaxing too! And they offer Stash tea. I'm going back!!

It's honestly a little embarrassing how long overdue this review is! I've been seeing Brittany Pilgrim for my balayages for the past 2+ years and it's been the best thing I've done for my hair. Before Brittany I hadn't found a regular stylist in San Francisco, but after my first session with Brittany I knew I would be a regular.
I really appreciate the attention to detail that she has - she's thorough and meticulous, making sure that she nails not only what you're looking for, but gives you feedback to ensure that you get what's going to look good on you. She's super concerned with the health of your hair as well and will give recommendations and make modifications to keep it as healthy as possible. Knowing the texture of my hair and how I struggle with it she also turned me onto keratin treatments, which have been a total game changer. The ORO Salon itself is super cute and the Muni train stops literally right outside so getting to appointments is a breeze.
On top of all this, Brittany is just a joy to be around and can make hours of a full balayage appointment fly by. If you're looking for your next stylist - you've found her!

I always love my haircut from here. I've been going to the stylist Melissa for many years now and she always takes care of me. I'm usually a little unsure of what I want and she helps me by making suggestions and I'm always satisfied with the result. She also gives me styling tips and even suggest products that will be better for the health of my hair. I love the shampoo from oro that Melissa suggested it's been great for my curls. She also gives an amazing shampoo and scalp massage. If your looking for a chill place to relax and get your hair done this is it.

Oro salon is one of the best, if not the best salon in the city! Melissa has been cutting my hair for years and is a wizard with sheers! From the cut to the washing of the hair, she’s the best. She recently just cut my hair for a friends wedding and I felt like a million bucks! Definitely recommend!!

I had an appointment for men's haircut with deep conditioning, and i got a fabulous haircut. Given it was my first time at this salon, I got lucky with my stylist.
Their services is not worth the cost. I walked out of the salon covered in hair, i had to clean my neck and my jacket by myself in the bathroom.
You'd think they would at least rinse my hair to get rid of the fallen cuts but no. My stylist said they only do one wash.
Also confirm the prices before you go, i was overcharged than what I agreed to pay for when i booked my appointment online.
There are better salons in the city with services worth your buck. I would probably not go there again.

I LOVE ORO, period! Pre Covid, I followed Sophia from Grasshoppers to ORO and loved her and she did wonders with scissors! Then Covid hit! Shutdown! Sophia moved to Hawaii. I cried and cried!
Then salons were allowed to open this fall. I needed a long awaited haircut but didn't give up on ORO. I knew they would have other haircut/style scissor masters!
I checked out the stylists on their great website.
When I read Lee's bio, something just clicked. I liked what I read.
Well as you know, going to a new stylist is a bit scary.
When Lee met me at their door, I knew I was in good hands. He was very friendly, has a lot of soul, very sweet AND I loved his whole look.
He put me at ease and worked the scissors like a genius! I love my haircut soo much and can't recommend Lee enough!
A loyal new client I am! Bravo!!

I was looking through a few downtown San Francisco salons. For some reason I kept coming back in to this one in my research. Can’t thank enough this place. I’m so glad I gave it a try. Brittany at Duboce location was incredible. She is precisely qualified what I was looking for and made it happen after 4,5 hours. I’m so happy with my balayage blonde color, quality and professional skills I’ve been indulged in. Highly recommend to anyone who is looking for coloring or haircut in a creative way in San Francisco.

I'm very disappointed with my hair and the service I received during my first appointment at Oro Salon.
Firstly, my stylist was running behind and I was seen 40 minutes later than scheduled. I understand this happens sometimes and wasn't upset about it since they texted to let me know about 30 minutes before my appointment.
However, once I was seen and my hair was cut, she did not take the time to blow dry and style it. I assume she did this to save time since she was running behind and her next client had already arrived. But honestly, walking out of this very nice salon with wet hair after paying over $120 plus tip was really frustrating. Especially since I saw her previous client walk out with dry and beautifully styled hair.
The cut itself is also not great. The bangs are much shorter than I wanted, the face framing is uneven, and the overall length is shorter than we discussed.
Hair grows back and money returns but this whole experience ruined my day and I left the salon holding in tears.
