I can’t say enough good things about Fionnuala and the team at Dolled and Dapper! Fionnuala has been my hairdresser for just under 3 years. She is the absolute best. If you are a blonde looking for a new hairdresser look no further, Fionnuala is your girl.
I wouldn't trust anyone else with my color. Her skill and attention to detail is unmatched. She has an abundance of knowledge and has helped get my hair back to full health after dying it blonde for years.
If you're looking for someone who truly cares about their clients and delivers exceptional results, I highly recommend Dolled and Dapper.

TLDR: Nice people, but practice poor customer care. If you miss an appointment they’ll charge you ONE HUNDRED PERCENT of the cost.
This review sucks to write. The stylist I had during my first appointment was wonderful. Great cut. Great chat. However, it was the first time I styled my hair and asked her for a recommendation on when I should get my hair cut next. She recommended 3 months. My hair didn’t grow out much in 3 months and I forgot about our appointment because I didn’t need a cut. I received a call from a frustrated salon about missing the appointment, understandable, but I’m also not thinking about an appointment someone else recommended 3 months ago. The other day, I booked an appointment for August 20th, somehow a mix up in their calendar system happened and I got scheduled for August 13th. 20 minutes AFTER the appointment started I received a text if I’m coming, which I wasn’t, and got charged $110. I called to figure out what’s happening. No answer. I went into the salon to talk to the woman that cut my hair 5 months prior and she said “they run a business here” and it’s their policy to charge especially after “missing twice” and kept the $110 charge saying that I’d have to pay again despite my hair being just as long. I write this review to the people that aren’t thinking about their hairstylists schedule 24/7 like myself and to be careful about booking this place. If an issues happens in their system or they give you a recommendation months in advance that doesn’t map well to your situation, you may just get charged a hefty fine. I won’t be coming back.

Fionula is a color genius. I came to her two years ago with pretty damaged (and orange) hair and she fixed me up right away. As my hair has gone through many changes during postpartum, she’s helped me figure out what color and cut works best. And on top of that, she is so much fun!

i've been seeing fionnuala for 6+ years -- she's simply the best hairstylist i've ever had. her talent is like no other! aside from that, we have always clicked and have great conversations. i feel so lucky to have found her years ago, she's always made my hair dreams come true.

Such a cute little place! I worked with Angelina (the owner) and she was so sweet and fun! She really listened to my hair needs/issues and made suggestions without peddling products like I have experienced in the past. Not too expensive (for SF anyway) and they saw me really quickly. I will definitely be returning in the future.

Angelina gave me the perfect post-covid haircut. My salon never reopened and I'm so happy I found a new stylist on the first try! She did my friend's hair at the same time since and we were so happy to leave feeling a little glamorous again. Very covid-safe establishment.

Fionnuala is the best stylist I've ever had. A straight-talking, take-no-prisoners, badass fairy-tale princess with the meanest texturing skills you've ever seen, she and her scissors walked into my life and my hair has been great ever since. Fionnuala remembers the problem areas and addresses them with aplomb. Haircuts with her have always been something I look forward to. Scheduling appointments is a breeze, even far in advance, and the shop is consistently in tip-top shape. Can't recommend enough!

Very cute boutique hair salon. They carry great hair care lines and has a cool ambiance offering you tea to wine, while listening to good tunes!
Now lets get to business. Angelina (Lola) knows her stuff. Not only does she know her products and hair chemistry (is that a thing?) she is very talented with her technique. And I always leave happy!
I go to her for color and bayalage. I usually say what I'm thinking and she consults with me and shows me pictures (yes!!) and we come up with a plan. I like that she has a vision and ideas of her own and explains what tones go with my skin, etc... I don't like when the hair stylist hands me a color book and tells me to pick. I get nervous when I pick my nail color!! The treatment usually comes with a haircut and a blow-dry style. I almost feel guilty not going out because I'm so dolled up! It makes for good selfies though! Highly recommend!

I don't know how I've never reviewed Lola before, probably because selfishly I don't want anyone else to know about how amazing she is ;) I am extremely picky with my hair, and for the past 2+ years she has not only listened to what I want but also talked me out of some awful life decisions. She's taken my hair from brunette to blonde and back again without damaging my hair. She gives her expertise opinion and never tries to up sell you on some treatment or more highlights, more often than not she actually tells me I need less done than what I even think is true. She is talented beyond belief and never fails to make me walk out of the salon with an enormous smile on my face. In a city full of salons I can't imagine a stylist that is better out there. Also, she is an amazing human being who I look forward to seeing every time I make an appointment!
UPDATE: I've been going to Lola for over four years now. Recently I made the grim mistake of getting my hair done while I was home in NH, I asked for a brown color and was given her black hair, tears streaming down my face I called one of my friends to fix it, she did the best she could, but I walked away looking a little on the brassy side. When I got home to sf the first thing I did was book an appt with Lola. She not only fixed the dye job but gave me a balayage that is gorgeous, manageable, and makes me feel great about myself. She listens to what you want, gives her honest advice and is truly just an amazing person to talk to. 4 years later and no matter where I move to, I can guarantee you I'll fly here just to have her do my hair. I can't say enough good things about her.

From the minute you walk in I felt so welcomed.
I have been here twice and I cannot wait to go back!
My first Visit I had Ang (Lola) and she gave me an A-line bob with a little peek-a-boo blonde. She paid attention to what I wanted and also talked me through the process. She delivered great results beyond my expectations.
My second visit was with Tess and I did a red balayage. I was skeptical at first because I am not one to keep up with maintaining my hair but it worked out. Tess gave me pointers on which shampoo/conditioner brands to use/not use. She's very attentive in listening to and understanding what you want.
Thank you Dolled & Dapper Salon for such excellent service and work!

I had my hair balayaged and toned by Tess.
First, the salon is adorable, clean, and absolutely cozy. I could sit in there all day.
Second, the service is just THE best. Tess was very accommodating, started me off with some yummy tea, and made me feel right at home.
Lastly, the quality of Tess's work is incredible. She's very attentive in listening to and understanding what you want, knows how it will work with your hair type, and delivers results beyond expectations. I came in with a grown out, botched blonde balayage from before seeing her (see pic). I wanted to go back to brunette but with a warm chocolate blended into a honey hazelnut. Tess is literally a hair magician alchemist voodoo master. She blended my balayage to get rid of a harsh line that I came in with (see pic for final results). She truly understands color and works magic on making it work for your hair type. From bold fun colors to a natural look, she can do it all. I absolutely LOVE my hair!
Also, she helped me out with using Lyft for the first time and it was amazing! Thank you Tess!
