My very first impression of this place is them canceling my appointment 12 minutes after my appointment--with no explanation was super psyched to give them a try too lol. Idk maybe they can redeem themselves in the future.

If I could give 0 stars i would. Terrible experience. First, when I walked in, I wasn't greeted by anyone I was just told to sit down while everyone behind the counter was talking to one another. I tried asking what kind of pedicure I booked and if it was gel or regular nail polish and they just told me to sit down. About 10 minutes later I was taken to sit down and I asked again if it was gel or regular and they didn't know. While everyone was talking, I could've either been picking out my colors or they could've figured out what type of pedicure I got. The massages were not good and barely had any effort. I left with mud still on my legs and heels that were not smoothed out. After leaving my appointment, I noticed about two hours later that my nails had already started to chip. I woke up the following morning and more than half of my nails have a chipped. I called the manager to let them know, and they said that there was nothing they could do except repaint them, and it would not come with any of the massages or rest of the service that was included with the manicure. Manager on the phone was really rude and not professional and was not willing to understand my frustrations and kept saying that the nail polish takes 24 hours to fully dry and that your nails are gonna chip no matter what. So then what's the point of a manicure?? DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE TERRIBLE ALL AROUND

Karmine is a great nail tech. I've been getting my rubber base gel nails done by her for months. She preserves the quality of my natural nail when redoing them. I appreciate her work and will continue to book with her because I love how they look and get a lot of compliments of her work. I will add, I prefer a natural set so I always do sheer nude shades and a short/medium length.

I went to get a pedi today, place is very nice and they were very accommodating which was great since I showed up on a Saturday without appointment.
Everyone seems very nice but unfortunately I didn't get for the service I was expecting.
The person who did my pedi was "done" in less than 10 mins. She removed my nail polish then put my feet in water for about 30 seconds and then scrubbed, put lotion and the disposable sandals were on. she took about 15 mins with the nail polish because she would wait for it to dry before adding another coat, so this leaves my pedi time between 25 to 30mins.
My friend who went with me asked me if she was done and I said idk.
Then my technician "removed" my cuticles in my pinkies and then she passed that instrument quickly on a couple of my other toes.
Then she kinda pushed my cuticles with something that I don't know how it's called but DID NOT go on the sides to remove the dirt that accumulates there.
And this is how my toes ended up looking after the pedi.
PS. My toe nail is broken And I told her it did need to get it repaired so that's on me.

I have been coming here since 2021, and this is the only nail salon that I go to. I have tried many places prior, living in Los Angeles, there are many to choose from, but compared to other places that are just as popular and keep up with all the nail trends/designs; Laque beats the competition with its reasonable prices, top quality work, and skilled artists. The salon itself is beautiful, everything is sanitized by the hour, the staff are friendly and the owner, Marina, is very accommodating and hospitable to her clients.
Ellen, Guzal, Karmine, and Valentina are my go-to nail artists, you won't be disappointed! They are very thorough, detailed, and take pride in their work.

My first time at Laque on Friday night - pedicure with Ellen. Nice being able to get an appointment at 8:00pm relaxing, clean and decorated cute.

It was a couple of years before I had been back to Laque. Mostly because of how far it is from where I live and how impossible it is to get an appointment that suits my needs. I was so hyped and excited to be able to be back, and for what better occasion than my God Daughters 21st bday. I wanted to gift her something so special. This was it guys !!! I made an appointment so we can be next to each other to chit chat. I was very specific about it too. Welp. That's where this all started. We never got a chance to sit next to each other. Okay. I semi understood. Then when we took a little break, she came up to me and asked me if my fingers hurt. I said no? Why ?? She said hers were hurting so bad. I said. Say something. She did. The lame excuse and sorry excuse is that they buried the nails too deep but that the pain would go away in a couple of days after her regular nail starts growing ??????? What kind of sorry excuse is that ??? They could have taken them off and started over. Instead they told her to deal with the pain. I was so embarrassed with my God Daughter as this was something that was supposed to be so special for her. I was done be before she was and I I noticed the nail tech rushing and doing a sloppy job putting the stones. I said hey is this doing to stay ?? She said yes. But I can clearly see they were so sloppy and sure enough two days later they came off. I called the owner to tell her that 1- her fingers were still in pain and 2- the stones came off on the 2nd day !!!!!! She pretty much said that's the nature of things and that she told us that it would take days before her pain went away and that stones are that way but that we could go back and get the stones put back on. I told her but we live so far. $180 dollars later. Here we are. This is an embarrassment.

It was my first time coming to this nail salon. The atmosphere was very clean, positive, and had an overall great aesthetic. I got my nails done with Mindy, and she did a phenomenal job. I highly recommend her! She's really sweet and very skilled. I'm definitely coming back here. I'm happy I found a place to do my nails by my house.

Wish I could give zero stars. It's giving what I ordered versus what I got. Look at those photos. How can anyone justify that?
I've been coming here for quite a while with Mindy and she's been gone but this is the second issue with the owner that I've experienced. Notice all of the responses she gives are excuses and explanations trying to be absolved of all blame and never true apologies or accountability. Just lots of passive aggressive nastiness. She is worse in person. I'm a business owner. I understand how to make actual apologies. Do better. Now to the service itself.
Design was absolutely awful. Brought in a picture and explicitly asked if it could be done. I was told yes. It was never mentioned that it would be an additional $5 per nail for my design or I would have chosen a different one. $50 extra for nails shouldn't just be sprung on someone at checkout. She had to re-do the design repeatedly because it was so absolutely amateur. Not even the lines were straight.
To add insult to injury, when I showed the owner how awful it was, there was excuse after excuse. "Photoshop". "This is someone else's photo". "They used different materials". What?? If a tech doesn't have the technical skills, they need to say NO so I can choose a design they CAN do. That's not hard and everyone wins.
I was appalled at how bad these came out. Never once was I offered an apology or even any kind of compassion for how awful these turned out for $140 + tip despite saying on Yelp how they would make things right if your service was poor. What a lie. This place should be embarrassed to let people walk out like that and worse, Marina is truly a heartless business owner. Never ever again. You should be ashamed to treat paying customers like this. Shame on you.

Also Marina, do not respond to me with your snarky comebacks. Maybe one day you can own how you treat people which most of the negative reviews here all have in common. When someone is unhappy, attempt to work with them. This is how you keep loyal customers. Taking zero blame doesn't fly anymore. Be better.
UPDATE: responding to Marina- so many lies here, Marina. Shame on you, really. This was June 30th, 2022. Not 2 years ago. And unfortunately for you, there is not a statute of limitations on reviews so... sorry not sorry. At the time, I could only post this to your Google page because reviews on your Yelp weren't being added. So tada! Here I am and I haven't forgotten.
No, this was absolutely NOT addressed, the tech did NOT tell me the pricing, YOU DID upon payment which is why I explained to YOU how bad of a job it was and that the rate is not justified. I would not have agreed to an extra $50. No way.
Remember when I said, hey, I've been coming here a long time and spent a lot of money here and you said "people have come here and spent way more than you"? Remember that? Oh I do. I hope one day to see you own how you treat people. But I doubt it. You just like to gaslight people and treat them like second class citizens then lie about the experience to unsuspecting readers. They're not dumb. They can all see the bad reviews are all about YOU and how you treat people.
All of the negative reviews about *you* cannot ALL be wrong, Marina. Do better.

So here I am 10 days into my FULL ACRYLIC GEL SET and boom two nails ALREADY MISSING!!! Not only did she do my nails crooked! They already are breaking off! Very nice lady but the nails were TERRIBLE!!! Im an entertainer and I cant even show my nails when Im doing shows or at events because ppl are gonna see how crooked they are!
UPDATED RESPONSE: This company is HORRIBLE. The fact that I been getting my nails done with acrylic for 18 years and Ive been going to CHILL NAILS SPA with NO NAIL BREAKS....proves my point as they are NOT a good nail shop. The owner responding just proves that their defensive to cover up their poor nail skills. NEVER GO THERE AGAIN!!!
