Really disappointing overall experience. I do not recommend DON CHAN, specifically if you're trying to book a blow out. He does not know how to give a proper blowout or use a round brush.
I asked for 'round brush curls with volume' and he immediately brushed that off saying "my hair wouldn't hold a curl". Mind you I obviously selected this hair style from experience and I've had it done countless times with complete success. Don should have just admitted right then and there he didn't specialize in that type of service.. or say something honest so I knew what to expect!! Half way through the appt when he probably realized I was not happy with the outcome he suggested we try to use a curling iron (which is not the same at all). He also gave me the strangest rough dry with a dryer, not gentle at all, and over dried my hair. Meaning my hair was no longer damp for any kind of styling with a round brush. So when it was time to section my hair and use the round brush (the brush was only used for a few random pieces of my hair.... Again bizarre methods) my hair was hardly damp anymore so of course a curl isn't going to hold anymore! Honestly he was cold and very unfriendly I tried to mention twice that I'm going to a birthday dinner and he could honestly care less I was unhappy. It took everything in me not to call the attention to the salon owner who was still there working on another client, to show her Don completely disregarded my requests and that I was very upset. Salon is clean, and other staff seemed fine, but unfortunately will not be coming back and my experience absolutely deserved a review to warn others.

I found this salon 20 years ago when working in Westwood, and have been going to Laurie ever since even though I left that job a long time ago. It is completely worth the commute! Laurie is simply wonderful and has taken excellent care of my hair through the years -- cutting, highlighting and coloring. The salon is laid back and friendly. The stylists really seem to know their clients. Highly recommend.

I think the best review and compliment I can share for this fabulous gem of a salon is the constant compliments I receive on my hair style! Seriously every month strangers will comment on how chic my cut is, all thanks to Veronica at Capelli Lounge! I've been trusting her to do my 'do for the past 23 years, and am so grateful for her talent! We all know good hair days are great days, and it's thanks to Capelli that I have so many!

I am not the kind of person who writes reviews... but with so many salons to choose from, finding a good one can be challenging... and finding a great one can be even more difficult... but look no further! I've learned that when you find a great salon it's best to stay, and I have been coming to Veronica for many years. She is both a wonderful person and a great stylist! Hair dressers work closely with clients and Veronica is super attentive, listens to my requests and always offers good advice and excellent customer service. In all these years I have never left the salon with a haircut I didn't like, and I'm certain that will be the case for you!

I love Capelli! I mostly see Veronica who is fantastic. She is great with color, her haircuts are always up to date with the trends and she works quickly - you can be in and out with a full highlight and cut/blow dry in aroudn 2 hours. And she has good chat~ 100 stars~

I love this place! I live in New York City most of the time, but I only gey my hair done in LA at Capelli Lounge. They have such a comfortable, relaxed, and welcoming atmosphere, and the talent and expertise of the stylists is unrivialed - and I know, I spent so much of my life (and money) in "celebrity" stylists hair salons, both in LA and New York. But since finding Veronica - (it was actually my husband who found her first, and if you ever would have told me I would go to the same person for my hair as my husband, I would have told you you were crazy, but she's just that good), I stopped looking around and found my forever stylist. Veronica has been doing my color and cut for more than 20 years now and I wouldn't even think of going anywhere else. In my time sitting in her chair, I've had plenty of opportunities to watch the other stylists do their work and every client I see walking out of the salon looks their absolute best. Its wonderful when you can spend your time and money at a place where the people are so kind that it's a pleasure just being around them. I ALWAYS walk out looking and feeling infinitely better than when I walk in. I couldn't recommend Capelli Lounge more highly!

I've been coming here for 17 years, which should say alot. My stylist is Veronica and she does my color, cuts and blowouts. She is the best. The whole staff is friendly and welcoming. I drive in from the Valley and the drive is worth it. I highly recommend them to anyone who cares about their hair and how they look.

Kei did a fantasic job!! I have super thick long hair and Kei spent 2 hours perfecting my hair cut. He is also very nice and fun to chat with. With the first-time discount, the price was around $70 + tip, which is good for LA prices. Thank you Kei!

Fantastic place! Laurie is my stylist and she's terrific. Serene atmosphere. If there is one drawback it's finding parking in Westwood but just a couple blocks over from the salon is public parking which is very reasonable and sometimes free.

My entire experience was great! I had Kei, and he did an amazing job with my haircut request. Though my request was specific and weird, he not only did amazing with the execution, but he suggested additional fixes to my style, such as texturing, suggested lengths to shape my face better, etc. But he never strayed too far from my original concept! Communicate exactly what you want, be courteous, and you'll walk out of this comfy and atmospheric lounge very very happy. (plus, they do STUDENT DISCOUNTS)
